2015-07-05 08:46

The CT scan showed 7 cysts on left kidney. Can you tell me the difference between single cysts and PKD, please.

Answer :

Difference Between Single Cysts and PKDIt is common that one or several kidney cysts attack people by the age of 60. In general, they are simple, which means that they are benign and have no risk of being cancerous. Single kidney cyst and multiple cysts are the same.

While Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is a genetic disorder, which is characterized by innumerable cysts on kidneys. As your mentioned, you have multiple kidney cysts that has better prognosis than Polycystic Kidney Disease.

You should take regular test to watch the cysts growth. Meanwhile, avoiding spicy foods and alcohol is required. Taking enough water each day is helpful for preventing Urinary Tract Infection which is one of common complications of kidney cyst enlargement.

Medication is necessary if the cysts causes symptoms such as back pain, high blood pressure, blood or protein in urine, nausea or fever. I recommend you to take Traditional Chinese herbs.

They are natural for you, compared with over-the-counter medicines. The most important thing is that traditional Chinese herbs can shrink kidney cysts from the root. On one hand, we choose herbal medicines that can inhibit cyst epithelial cells from secreting fluid any more. On the other hand, the effective ingredients of herbal medicines can increase blood circulation so that fluid can be reabsorbed into blood vessels and then is discharged by kidneys as urine.
